Pittsburgh in the fall is one of the most anticipated times of the year. From the gorgeous change in scenery to cooler, more enjoyable temperatures, it's no surprise why locals look forward to this season all year long.

With the season change comes notable change elsewhere, too; the clothing becomes warmer and cozier, the restaurants roll out their autumn specials and, as most people would also say, "It's pumpkin spice season!" This is all well and good if you actually like pumpkin spice, but what about those of us who prefer something outside of the pumpkin spice box? Thankfully, I've got you covered and have found a few favorites around the city.

Caffe d'Amore | 5380 Butler Street (Lawrenceville)
Their vegan-friendly pumpkin spice latte is going to make a fan out of you even if you're not a vegan or into pumpkin spice. It's that good. Honorable mention: Give their maple latte a try!

Big Dog Coffee | 2717 Sarah Street (South Side Flats)
This quaint nook in a vintage building offers a variety of gourmet brews, light fare & desserts.

La Prima Espresso Company | 205 21st Street (Strip District)
While La Prima has several locations throughout the city, the one in the Strip District takes the cake when it comes to pumpkin spice. Pair this seasonal delight with a stroll through the neighborhood, especially if your trip lands on a Steelers Sunday!

Nicholas Coffee & Tea Co. | 23 Market Square (Downtown)
Nicholas Coffee in Market Square is one of the best coffee shops in the city for fall flavor. Their pumpkin spice is a delight and a must-try, of course, but you should also try their Cinnabun latte while you're at it.

Delanie's Coffee SouthSide | 1737 E Carson St (South Side)
Delanie's has another location in East Liberty, but the South Side spot has a homey feel that's perfect for the fall weather.

Commonplace Coffee | 1501 Buena Vista St. (Northside)
Like Delanie's, Commonplace Coffee has other locations - these ones in the South Side and Squirrel Hill. However, the atmosphere of the Commonplace in the Mexican War Streets is elite. This corner coffee shop surrounded by flora and colorful homes is a perfect spot to enjoy the changing of the seasons. Plus, you can take it on the go to nearby places like Randyland and The Mattress Factory!

If coffee isn't your favorite, look no further. Allegheny Coffee & Tea Exchange has a Chai Tea Latte that's best described as "fall in a cup." Think about a typical latte, but with all the chai spices and none of the coffee flavor.

Convive Coffee Roastery | 4032 Butler St (Lawrenceville)
Convive has a fantastic lineup of fall drinks including a smoke salted maple latte and steamed spiced cider, but the Honey Cardamom Latte will quickly become your new fall favorite.

Mad Mex | 220 S Highland St (Shadyside)
All of Pittsburgh's Mad Mex locations boast an apple cider margarita for the fall season. What's not to like about a margarita? Let alone a margarita with a crisp apple flavoring in a caramel-rimmed glass? Johnny Appleseed would be proud.

Arsenal Cider House & Wine Cellar | 300 39 St (Lawrenceville)
If you've been to Arsenal, you know that cider is the name of its game. With a menu so extensive, it's hard to pick a favorite, but for me Honeycrisp Apple rates highly! Stop in today and try them all!

Bridges & Bourbon | 930 Penn Ave (Downtown)
For exciting, vibrant cocktails paired with an amazing venue and superb nightlife, head to Bridges & Bourbon. Inventive drinks like the scarecrow (vanilla vodka, creme de cacao, pumpkin pie syrup, orange and oat milk cream) top their modern cocktail list for this fall.
