Pittsburgh Plans to Surprise and Delight Your City as part of our KidsBURGH Campaign
PITTSBURGH – Hello, Washington, D.C.! VisitPITTSBURGH, the official tourism promotion agency for Pittsburgh, PA, will be in your city, July 10-12, making appearances at family-friendly events, giving away cool prizes and doing good deeds as part of the tourism organization’s KidsBURGH marketing campaign.
“The KidsBURGH campaign is our long-running, family-fun campaign designed to draw families from surrounding key drive markets, such as Cleveland, Columbus and Erie. 2018 is the first year we are advertising and promoting KidsBURGH in the Washington, D.C. area. The variety of family-friendly attractions, all within a five-mile radius of Downtown Pittsburgh, are ideal for family vacations in Pittsburgh,” said Tom Loftus, chief marketing officer for VisitPITTSBURGH.
“Why promote KidsBURGH in Washington, D.C.? It’s only a four-hour drive from Pittsburgh and families, especially in the summer, are looking for different activities and attractions to enjoy with their families,” said Loftus. From our iconic amusement park, Kennywood, to the National Aviary, to our children-focused museums, to all of the fun activities on and along our three rivers, Pittsburgh has a lot to offer families at a reasonable price. In addition, this year as we celebrate the anniversary of Mister Rogers, we would like to welcome D.C. residents to our neighborhood.
The VisitPITTSBURGH road crew will consist of four staff members that will surprise and delight the residents of Washington, D.C. with a variety of family-friendly activities and Pittsburgh-themed giveaways at the following locations:
Tuesday, July 10: FRESHFARM CityCenterDC Farmer’s Market (11 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
Wednesday, July 11: Mini Golf in the Park at CityCenter (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
Thursday, July 12: Kids Corner in the Park at CityCenter (10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.)
