Enjoy an exclusive tour of the Meadowcroft Rockshelter with Dr. James M. Adovasio, who rocked the scientific community with his archaeological excavation of the Rockshelter in 1973. The site has provided experts with the earliest known evidence of human habitation in the New World. Dr. Adovasio currently serves as provost at Mercyhurst College and is the director of the Mercyhurst Archaeological Institute. He will present a lecture to all visitors in addition to leading a tour of the site. Meadowcroft Rockshelter, located in Avella, Pa., is about 35 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.
