Trafford Estate & FriendlySpinach present Code & Crematory 2026 - a creative coding workshop and live music event. Code & Crematory 2026 will take place in Pittsburgh on Saturday, August 29.
Visual installation artist FriendlySpinach (Yoni Maltsman) will present a hands-on introductory workshop on producing visual projections. The workshop will cover use of the Hydra Video Synth, as well as how to operate circuit bent video converters and analog video mixers. A laptop is required, but one can be furnished for you in pre-registration. The creative coding workshop will begin at 10am at BGC Activity Center, located at 113 N Pacific Ave - Pittsburgh, 15224.
The Irma Freeman Center for Imagination will host a live music performance featuring Nowhere Wolves, Barbados Black, Superswell (NY), and Shrub. With guidance from FriendlySpinach and Fluxophile, attendees of the preceding creative coding workshop will be invited during the performance to create and manipulate their own visual projections inspired by the music. The performance will begin at 7pm at The Irma Freeman Center for Imagination, located at 5006 Penn Ave - Pittsburgh, 15224.
