Every year EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta presents Pittsburgh's official 4th of July celebration, Celebrate America PGH at Point State Park. This event is 100% free, and the full day of fun kicks off at noon on the 4th with live entertainment, food vendors, historical demonstrations and kids activities. Stick around for the nationally recognized fireworks display at 9:35 pm.

What's more American than a weekend at the ballpark? Spend the weekend leading up to the 4th of July rooting on the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. There are special promotions all weekend long including fireworks on Friday, free shirts on Saturday, and Kids Day on Sunday, where all kids are invited to run the bases after the game.

Heinz History Center Flag Ceremony

The Big Butler Fair

The fair, located just 45 minutes away from Pittsburgh, runs Jun 30-Jul 8 which makes it a great place to spend your holiday weekend.

Kennywood's Celebrate America

Every year Kennywood hosts a six day Independence Day celebration with a hot dog eating contest, special entertainment, a wiener dog race and of course nightly fireworks! Active duty military, retired military and veterans can take advantage of free admission with a valid ID from Jun 29-Jul 4.

Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival

Just under an hour southeast of Pittsburgh is the Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival which takes place annually over the July 4th weekend. The festival will run Jun 29-Jul 2, and focuses on culturally enriching the community. Organizers accomplish this with ethnic foods, live performing arts, cultural heritage activities, historical reenactments, a children's educational area and a heritage trail.
