Raise the Jolly Roger! Let's Go Bucs!

Baseball in the 'Burgh

The weather outside is heating up, the kids are almost out of school for the summer and that can only mean one thing; it's baseball season in the 'Burgh! Those loud roars and fireworks emanating from the North Shore means you can probably chalk up another win for the hometown Pittsburgh Pirates.

You'd be remiss if you found yourself in the city over the summer and didn't catch a game at one of the most popular ballparks in all of baseball, PNC Park. With downtown Pittsburgh serving  as a scenic backdrop and a dramatic entry via the Roberto Clemente Bridge along the Allegheny River, PNC Park provides fans with a retro design combined with modern day amenities. ABC News, TripAdvisor, ESPN and more have advertised PNC Park as an ultimate site to catch a game with a spectacular view of the Downtown skyline.

Nearly a quarter of the way through the 2018 campaign, the young but talented Buccos find themselves atop the NL Central Division. A blistering 8-2 start to the season and two five-game winning streaks have elevated the Pirates above usual divisional stalwarts, the Cardinals and Cubs.  Led by one of the most exciting offenses in baseball, Pittsburgh ranks amongst the top-5 teams in runs scored in the MLB.

There's always many great events, promotions and giveaways during baseball season as well. Some of the most popular free giveaways include t-shirts, hats, backpacks and bobble heads. You can have a front-row seat as you see the skyline light up on Fireworks Night (selected Fridays); bring your dog to the ballpark on Pup Night (every Tuesday); or stay after the game for a free concert on specific evenings.

While you are in town for a game, stop by the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum or the Clemente Museum and relive some of the great moments of Pittsburgh sports history.

So round up your family and friends and make your way down to PNC Park over the next few months to catch a game. Let’s Go Bucs!
