Must-Attend Events & Festivals: North Shore & North Side
An iconic Pittsburgh location, the North Shore and North Side come alive year-round with must-attend events and festivals. Timing your visit to coincide with these signature events offers a chance to see the riverfront at its most energetic and vibrant.
Annual Events & Festivals
DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon | Various
One of the city's most electric weekends, where the North Shore takes part of the celebration and the energy is concentrated at the finish line in the heart of the Golden Triangle. The course winds through several diverse neighborhoods before culminating Downtown with live music, "cheer stations," and a massive street party atmosphere for runners and spectators alike.
The Annual Mexican War Streets Yard Sale | 1201 Sherman Ave.
On the first breath of summer in June, the streets will open their secrets. Follow the brick paths where history hums, and you’ll find treasures waiting in plain sight. Look for the houses with open doors—those are the ones ready to trade stories. If you hear laughter echoing between the rowhomes, you’re close. If you smell old books and fresh coffee, you’re there. The annual gathering is coming… and the Mexican War Streets are ready to reveal what they’ve been keeping.
Northside Music Festival | 511 Foreland St.
The Northside Music Festival encompasses a huge swath of this booming neighborhood. Two main outdoor stages at Allegheny Commons Park and on Foreland & Middle's intersection anchor the festival, with additional venues at popular businesses on the Northside including The Government Center, Allegheny City Brewing, Allegheny Elks Lodge and Fat Cat for more live music.
Picklesburgh | Pittsburgh's Sister Bridges
Voted the #1 specialty food festival in the country, this "only-in-Pittsburgh" experience takes over the Sister Bridges (Roberto Clemente and Andy Warhol). Famous for its giant 35-foot flying Heinz pickle balloon, the event offers pickle-themed cocktails, live music, and the fan-favorite pickle juice drinking contest.
America’s Mile | North Shore
A spectacular race event open to all, set against Pittsburgh's breathtaking North Shore.
Kickoff and Rib Festival | Acrisure Stadium
The Kickoff and Rib Festival was started in 1990 at Three Rivers Stadium. Much like today’s event, it featured concerts by national artists, national rib vendors, games and more.
