VisitPITTSBURGH Unveils 2021 Official Visitors Guide
Publication to promote visitation and inspire safe travel to Allegheny County
PITTSBURGH – VisitPITTSBURGH today released its 2021 Official Visitors Guide with the goals of inspiring safe travel to Pittsburgh and driving business to the city’s attractions, restaurants, hotels, museums and so much more. This year, the publication’s interest-based content has been expanded to promote more of the only-in-Pittsburgh attractions, neighborhoods and everything that makes Pittsburgh Pittsburgh.
The new magazine connects visitors to expanded and relevant content with targeted QR codes leading readers to specific pages on VisitPITTSBURGH.com. The Official Visitors Guide incorporates articles written by local contributors, as well as first-time features on Pittsburgh’s music and makers scenes, itinerary tips and ideas and much more. Content for the publication was driven by research pulled from visitor inquiries and feedback.
“Pittsburgh has become a major travel destination, so one of VisitPITTSBURGH’s goals for the 2021 Official Visitors Guide is to inspire readers to plan their perfect Pittsburgh getaway,” VisitPITTSBURGH President & CEO Jerad Bachar said. “We also aim to show readers just how easy it is to safely explore our region, thanks in large part to the Pittsburgh Global Health (PGH) & Safety Commitment, which demonstrates the ways our tourism and hospitality communities prioritize the health and safety of our residents and visitors.”
“As visitors become more comfortable with travel in 2021, we want to remind them that Pittsburgh is a beautiful, welcoming destination with diverse, unique tourism offerings,” VisitPITTSBURGH Chief Marketing Officer Tom Loftus noted. “There is a lot of pent-up demand for travel, and we want to let people from our drive markets and across the country know Pittsburgh offers something for everyone.
“Visitors looking to travel with their entire family will enjoy our KidsBURGH® features, with a special nod to activities grandparents can enjoy with their grandchildren. Looking to travel with your furry, four-legged friends? The Guide also can help you plan an ideal stay. From build-your-own mural tours, to overviews of Pittsburgh’s award-winning foodie scene and the region’s rich arts and cultural offerings, we hope to help new and returning visitors plan their next visit to Pittsburgh.”
The publication’s cover photo, captured by local photographer Jody Mader, features a young couple taking a selfie with the Clemente bridge as a backdrop. Pittsburgh design firm ocreations generated the guide’s design, and RR Donnelley Printing managed the printing.
Visitors and locals are encouraged to view and download a copy of the 2021 Official Visitors Guide at VisitPITTSBURGH.com. Physical copies of the guide can be mailed by request or found at select Pennsylvania welcome centers, turnpike plazas and AAA locations as well as select Ohio AAA locations.
