Tommy Emmanuel
Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel is celebrated for virtuosic fingerstyle technique, rhythmic percussion played on the guitar’s body, and a repertoire spanning country, blues, folk, jazz and pop. Chet Atkins named him a Certified Guitar Player, a distinction held by only five musicians. Emmanuel has performed at Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House, collaborated with artists including Mark Knopfler and Joe Walsh, and won a Grammy for Best Instrumental Arrangement for “Folsom Prison Blues.” His notable recordings include The Day Fingerpickers Took Over the World, made with Atkins, and The Mystery.
