Othello of the End Zone, or The Steel City Tragedy
Step onto the 50-yard line for the New Hazlett’s first-ever co-production with DEMASKUS Theater Collective: Othello of the End Zone, or The Steel City Tragedy. Written by Franky D. Gonzalez, directed by Shaunda Miles McDill, and starring Cynthia Dallas and Michael Patrick Trimm, this high-stakes modern reimagining brings Shakespeare to the Northside stage. When Imani Othello is named Head Coach of America's most beloved football franchise, the pressure mounts on and off the field. This hard-hitting adaptation centers a Black woman calling the plays at the height of her power, confronting ambition, betrayal, and relentless doubt.
