Chat Pile is an Oklahoma City noise-rock and sludge-metal band known for abrasive guitars, heavy rhythms, and stark examinations of social violence and decay. The group broke through with God’s Country (2022), a widely acclaimed debut that includes “Slaughterhouse” and “Why,” then expanded its sound on Cool World (2024). Chat Pile’s name references toxic mining-waste piles in northeastern Oklahoma, a fitting emblem for music that combines industrial weight, confrontational vocals, and bleak, sharply observed songwriting.
