4th Annual Building Bridges Day Returns to Roberto Clemente Bridge to Celebrate Unity, Belonging, and Community
PITTSBURGH, PA — The 4th Annual Building Bridges Day returns to Pittsburgh on Saturday, August 29, 2026, inviting residents from across the region to come together for a free, citywide celebration of unity, diversity, belonging, and connection through art and culture.
Due to the Bruno Mars concert at Acrisure Stadium, Building Bridges Day have moved the original times from 10A to 4P to 8A to 1P
Hosted on the iconic Roberto Clemente Bridge from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Building Bridges Day transforms one of Pittsburgh’s most recognizable landmarks into a vibrant gathering space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures are encouraged to connect through creativity, conversation, and shared experiences.
Created to address bullying, racism, and social division, Building Bridges Day fosters understanding by creating opportunities for meaningful engagement through the arts. The annual event celebrates the values that unite communities while inspiring acts of kindness, compassion, and inclusion.
“Building Bridges Day was created from a simple but powerful belief—that when we truly see one another, listen to one another, and create alongside one another, we begin to break down the barriers that divide us,” said Ebtehal Badawi, creator of Building Bridges Day. “This event is an invitation for our community to choose kindness over fear, connection over division, and belonging over exclusion. Every conversation, every mural, every performance, and every shared moment helps build a stronger, more compassionate Pittsburgh.”
This year’s celebration will feature an exciting lineup of activities and performances designed to engage attendees of every age, including:
Collaborative mural painting and interactive community art
Live music and multicultural performances
Yoga, breathwork, and sound healing sessions on the bridge
The “Joy of Being Human” giant puppet pageant
Local food vendors and artisan marketplace
Youth and family-friendly activities
Community storytelling and meaningful dialogue
Interactive opportunities to share messages of peace, kindness, and belonging
Building Bridges Day welcomes families, community organizations, artists, educators, businesses, and neighbors from across the region to participate in a day dedicated to celebrating what brings us together.
The event is free and open to the public.
