Celebrate the one you love with these unique date night ideas!

If you're like me, Pittsburgh is your one true love. With so many fun and romantic things to do in the city, Valentine's Day is a great excuse to get out and try something new! Whether you're looking to shake things up or keep it simple, celebrating with friends or a significant other, there are plenty of ways to make it a lovely day!

Hands-On Activities

Get creative and make something to remember your date by at one of these crafty places.

  • Take a class at the Pittsburgh Glass Center for a one-of-a-kind, hands-on experience with some truly talented artisans. Classes are offered for all skill-levels and with varying ranges of interest.
  • Be a Paint Monkey at one of the studio's four locations. Fun for private parties, groups or a romantic evening, this class makes it easy to be an artist! Guests are welcome to bring wine, beer and snacks.

Sit Back and Relax

Enjoy a special experience while someone else does the work with one of these mesmerizing activities.

  • Health, wellness and peace of mind are essential at Evolve Wellness Spa in Shadyside. Treat yourself and your partner to a luxurious and rejuvenating couple's massage, yoga, aromatherapy or a skin treatment for a day of pure relaxation.
  • If beer and a movie is more your speed, check out the adjoined Row House Cinema and Bierport in Lawrenceville. Pick up some craft brews (they'll even chill them for you!) and take them over to see a film from the week's lineup.

Date Night Events

  • Put on your dancing shoes and bring your sweetheart (and their appetite) to an enchanting evening of Valentine's cruises care of Gateway Clipper. Set the mood on the water with options for a romantic dinner cruise on February 14th and 16th, as well as a late night Valentine's Moonlight Dance on the 15th.
  • Ever wonder what it's like to be in love in the wild? Find out at the Animal Instincts Valentine's Dinner at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. Guests will enjoy a formal dinner, along with opportunities to interact with some of the Zoo's animals!
  • Or, check out the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's Valentine's weekend schedule for a romantic sample of Pittsburgh's performing arts scene. Pianist Emanuel Ax brings some much loved ballads to the stage on Valentine's Day. This is followed on the 15th-17th by the symphony's performance of Romeo & Juliet, a tribute to the best known romantic duo of all time. Only Claire and Jamie Fraser have a love more timeless than the titular couple. Take in the stunning performance at Heinz Hall, and be sure to stop downtown for drinks and a bite before or after the show!
