Downtown Pittsburgh Holiday Displays

Downtown Pittsburgh has no shortage of holiday fun, including stunning decorations and light displays. The Cultural District will host the Peoples Gas Holiday Market, with construction happening in Market Square. The 65-foot-tall PPG Place Christmas Tree, located in the center of the ice rink, is a sensational sight to see. Another light display sure to dazzle can be found in Mellon Square.

Winter Flower Show and Light Garden with marvelous poinsettias and holiday trees illuminated with sparkling ornaments and tree toppers, a dazzling, icy display in the Victoria Pond Room, and more.

This year, delve into the whimsical theme of "Botanical Brilliance," where twinkling lights outline the vibrant floral displays. Marvel at the 130-foot magnolia tree and the ample gilded flora. Wander through the Winter Light Garden and take in a botanical celebration of festive cheer.

Pittsburgh Botanic Garden promises to immerse you in the wonder of the holidays for their Winter Wonderlights event, perfect for families, friends, and date nights. Have fun stepping on interactive lights, explore a forest of light and fog, and journey through a tunnel of illuminated stars before taking a photo to remember at their towering tree.

If you get cold or hungry on your trek, don't worry. Toasty seasonal beverages are available along with holiday-inspired nibbles. Drive through the 1-mile-long Christmas light display at Clinton Park, featuring the work of local volunteers looking to spread holiday cheer. Their efforts have long been celebrated by the Clinton community for the over 30 years that the drive-thru holiday event has been operating.

Holiday Lights Outside of Pittsburgh

Olgebay Festival of Lights

A short drive from Pittsburgh in Wheeling, West Virginia, is Olgebay’s Winter Festival of Lights, an incredible drive-through attraction and holiday-light experience!

The Winter Festival of Lights is one of the nation’s largest holiday light shows featuring 300 acres of dazzling lights and over 100 lighted displays. Drive along the six-mile route and tune in to a variety of audio experiences for an unforgettable holiday adventure.

Pro-Tip: If you're looking to elevate your drive-through experience, we recommend trying a guided trolley tour through the Festival of Lights!

Overly’s Country Christmas in Westmoreland

In the hectic rush of the holidays, it’s time to slow down, get out of your car, and stretch your legs! This Westmoreland County tradition has been operating since 1956. Enjoy this walk-through Christmas village for good, as Overly Country Christmas exists to raise money for charitable causes.

Though the Overly Country Christmas Village may not be as extravagant as some other displays on this list, it’s still worth a stroll through, especially if you’re looking to avoid the huge crowds some of the other events on this list can draw. Like any good country Christmas, Overly’s Country Christmas Village is simple and comforting.
