Jerad Bachar Named to 2023 Pittsburgh Power 100 List
City & State Highlights Influential People Across the City of Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH – VisitPITTSBURGH President & CEO Jerad Bachar was named to the City & State Pennsylvania’s 2023 Pittsburgh Power 100, his second mention in as many years on the list that highlights some of the most influential and notable people across the City of Pittsburgh.
“I’m very honored to again earn recognition alongside many of our great city’s thought leaders,” Bachar said. “The VisitPITTSBURGH team works hard to build and strengthen Allegheny County’s tourism economy each day, collaborating with elected officials, stakeholders, partners and the community. It is our collective privilege to tell the Pittsburgh story.”
Bachar was named VisitPITTSBURGH President & CEO in May 2020. In this role, he has served as a trusted community voice and leader for the Pittsburgh tourism and hospitality industries, spearheading initiatives that help drive the region’s tourism economy.
Bachar boasts more than 30 years of tourism and economic development experience in an array of countries and business environments. He has worked in developed and emerging markets in the areas of destination branding and marketing, economic development and diversification and workforce development.
Prior to assuming his current leadership role, Bachar served as VisitPITTSBURGH’s Executive Vice President. He returned to Pittsburgh in January 2019 following a four-year stint as the Executive Director at the Bahrain Economic Development Board, where he was responsible for economic development of the travel, healthcare, education and real estate sectors.
Bachar sits on the board of the Greater Pittsburgh Hotel Association. He also serves on the boards of Destination International’s Foundation and the US Travel Association.
City & State’s Pittsburgh Power 100 was developed in partnership with Pittsburgh freelance writer Jordan Snowden. It recognizes the city’s movers and shakers in politics, organized labor, business, health care and other sectors and ranks them based on their influence in the region.
