Volunteers Needed to Assist Young Delegates of International Conference
PITTSBURGH – Volunteers are needed to help welcome and assist more than 1,300 of the world’s best and brightest leaders in their 20s as they visit here during the One Young World annual international summit, October 18-22. Leaders from nearly 190 countries will gather here for this summit to develop ideas for creating positive change in their communities, companies and countries. By volunteering, you can help to show the world why Pittsburgh was ranked by National Geographic Traveler as one of the "Best of the World Must-See Places."
Pittsburgh residents, age 18 and older, now have the opportunity to meet and assist these interesting people from many different cultures by volunteering for this high-profile event. If you are willing to welcome attendees at the airport, answer general questions about the city at hotels and the convention center, and accompany attendees to various venues in the area, please consider volunteering. While the David L. Lawrence Convention Center is the summit's primary venue, summit delegates also will attend Saturday breakout sessions at other destinations, such as Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, American Eagle, UPMC Sports Medicine Center and Carnegie Science Center Highmark SportsWorks.
Whether you are able to donate your time all three days, or just a few hours, the One Young World organizers need your help. VisitPittsburgh, the regions’ official tourism promotion agency, is taking the lead on recruiting volunteers. In addition to being integral to the success of the conference itself, friendly and helpful volunteers can show the world what a great place Pittsburgh is to live, work and visit. We hope you will consider volunteering for this exciting event when the city of Pittsburgh and our residents once again are on the world stage, proving ourselves as one of National Geographic Traveler's Best of the World.

One Young World is a global youth leadership summit, bringing together 1,300 delegates, primarily under age 25, from 190 countries worldwide. Unlike any other event in the world, One Young World gives delegates the kind of media platform and forum afforded ordinarily only to those who lead countries and corporations. One Young World gives them a platform for their views, vision and ideas to create real resolutions for real change. Supported by Counselors including Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Sir Bob Geldof and Muhammad Yunus, delegates tell the world what the leaders of tomorrow think and feel - and what they demand of the leaders of today. Founded by David Jones, Global CEO of Havas, and Kate Robertson, UK Group Chairman, Euro RSCG, One Young World is a unique event that offers international decision makers powerful insight into where our world may be heading.
Last year the One Young World Summit was held in Zurich, Switzerland.
