SportsPITTSBURGH To Celebrate 2018 Olympic Day

Olympic Day festivities to reinforce pillars – move, learn, and discover

PITTSBURGH – SportsPITTSBURGH will officially celebrate Olympic Day (Saturday, June 23) with a week-long social media campaign. The campaign will highlight current and former Olympians from the Western Pennsylvania region along with local partners such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania and Special Olympics Allegheny County, who embody and showcase the three Olympic pillars year-round.

Locals can follow along on the SportsPITTSBURGH Facebook page (@Sports PITTSBURGH) and Twitter handle (@sports_pgh), and are encouraged to share their Olympic Day celebrations using #OlympicDay.

“We are excited to showcase the Olympic spirit in Pittsburgh and take part in 2018 Olympic Day celebration,” said Jennifer Hawkins, executive director of SportsPITTSBURGH. “SportsPITTSBURGH is proud to support the Olympic Movement and encourage children to follow the Olympic Day pillars and to always move, learn and discover.”

Each day will feature a video, an Olympic athlete spotlight and a Pittsburgh themed blog. Take a look at one of the videos featuring an amazing athlete from our great city right here.
