With More Than 8,000 Attendees and Economic Impact of $4 million
PITTSBURGH – The 2016 East Coast Volleyball Championships return to Pittsburgh this weekend for the 8th consecutive year. This event will be held May 28-30 on 40 courts at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The event is expected to draw approximately 8,000 attendees and create more than $4 million of direct spending in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
More than 270 girls club volleyball teams, ranging from 10 different states and Canada, will compete in this three-day event, which is open to the public. Championship games will be held on Monday, May 30.

"The tournament will feature some of the best female volleyball players from across the country and, will again, showcase the versatility of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center to serve as a top-notch sports venue. It also reinforces Pittsburgh's brand as a city where legends are made and the perfect destination for major sports events. We thank East Coast Volleyball, the David L. Lawrence Center and our local community for partnering to host this event in our city year after year."
