Know Before You Go
Before you head out for a meal or drink, make sure your dog can socialize or is well-behaved in new spaces. Keep your dog’s well-being in mind and avoid staying out too late or going to a place with loud music. Be sure to grab your pup’s leash before heading out!
With 165 parks in the City of Pittsburgh, there’s no shortage of green spaces for your outdoor adventure! Pittsburgh has a wide range of regional and state parks to neighborhood parklets, including many different off-leash areas.
Walk your dog through Point State Park, the city’s 36-acre state park located in Downtown, and discover “The Point,” the confluence of Pittsburgh’s iconic three rivers. Cross one of Pittsburgh’s notable bridges for a walk along the North Shore Riverfront Trail and Park. And, if you and your dog like to hike, or even bike, check out Frick Park and the Montour Trail for a range of easy, intermediate and hard trails.
