Glass: Shattering Notions with Pittsburgh Glass Center

While Pittsburgh today is known for being the Steel City, it was previously known for being the center of the nation’s glass industry. In this hands-on workshop incorporating social studies and STEAM skills, teachers will tour the Glass: Shattering Notions exhibit, learn classroom techniques for analyzing archival materials using collections relating to Pittsburgh’s glass industry, and work with staff from the Pittsburgh Glass CentBooker to create a unique glass tile. All workshops include a classroom resource guide with lesson plans and a boxed meal. Pre-registration is required and space can be reserved online.
