“ALL-SCENE Entertainment Festival takes place on multiple stages and offers a diverse array of music and art. This year includes a “Battle of the Brushes” live-painting contest sponsored by PWAT Pittsburgh West, Mount Lebanon, and East Liberty and a chess tournament, encouraging patron participation while enjoying all the sounds within Mr. Smalls Theatre. “I am super excited this year for a spectacular blend of All-Scene veterans such as Daily Grind, Sikes and the New Violence, and DJ Blacklisted with newcomers such as Aubree Nicole, Brahctopus, Eva Eris, Glo Phase, Mad Rapture, Milly, Moral Compass, Old Game, Rhyot, Rhythm’N’Steel, The Tilt Room, Wings for Armor and more. Finding amazing talent in and around Pittsburgh is the easy part, solidifying a date, the not-so-easy part,” says curator Mike Zickefoose. “A little later in the season, October 8th falls on some fun holidays I’m incorporating this year. October 8th is Universal Music Day, which is in total spirit of “All-Scene”; National Chess Day, hence the chess tournament; National Fluffernutter Day, with a free peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwich for all who attend, and last but certainly not least World Octopus Day, so anyone with an octopus tattoo gets free entry.” Artists and vendors interested in displaying art and/or participating in the "Battle of the Brushes" or potential Chess Tournament participants should contact email@example.com for more information and Sign-ups. This year will be the All-Scene debut of both the Satellite stage and the War Room Patio. The Mr. Smalls restaurant and bars throughout the Theatre will be open to festival goers. The courtyard, the War Room, and general seating areas will also be available for patrons to rest up in between activities. Just as Mr. Smalls has continued to evolve architecturally from year to year, so has the different performance areas as well as the participatory elements of the festival, making every All-Scene special each & every year. Doors for “All-Scene” open at 3:30 p.m., with music starting at 4 p.m.and going till 1:30 a.m.
Tickets are $10 at doors and online at ticketfly.com/event/1312359. A portion of proceeds will go directly to the Mr. Smalls non-profit music organization, Creative.Life.Support (creativelifesupport.com).
