Artists’ Gallery Presents “AMERICA SQUARED!” Twenty Years of Photography by Jeff Schneider The Artists’ Gallery is pleased to continue the Artists’ Gallery Weekend Event Series with “America Squared!” gallery exhibition, featuring Jeff Schneider, a local artist. For the past 20 years armed with his beloved Mamiya 6 medium format film camera, Jeff Schneider has traveled from New York to Los Angeles and points in between photographing the ridiculous and sublime. “It is a labor of love. This country is so diverse you never know what just might be around the corner. From strange arcana to glorious landscapes to arresting cityscapes to interesting human characters, the USA can’t be beat!” “When traveling, the Mamiya is my go to camera. It’s a quiet, reliable workhorse that produces an extremely sharp 2 ¼ x 2 ¼ inch negative.” The photographs in this retrospective are square because the negative is square. Each photograph is 10 inches by 10 inches, printed in a wet darkroom on fiber based, silver paper and selenium toned for archival permanence.
The Artists’ Gallery host local bands and individual musical artists during our gallery exhibition. Anthony DiTullio play guitar at our October event. Anthony plays guitar pieces inspired from many genres, including classical, flamenco and jazz. He has also been known to play improvisations based on rock and roll songs from bands like the Grateful Dead, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin. This is the tenth gallery gala in the “Artist’s Gallery Weekend Event Series”. Each gallery event is more unique and compelling than the last. Now gallery guests can enjoy the warm ambience that comes with an opening night reception on both Friday and Saturday evenings. Meet and greet the artists, discover their inspirations.
