New hotels are opening at an unprecedented rate. Get the scoop.
Even Hotel Pittsburgh
Core Realty, Inc. has plans to redevelop the fifth and sixth floors of the former Macy’s building in downtown Pittsburgh into a 160-room hotel. Even Hotel, a new brand in the city, has an anticipated opening date of third quarter 2019.
The Oaklander Hotel
Concord Hospitality plans to build one of Marriott’s “autograph collection” hotels on the property of the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, located at the University of Pittsburgh. The 167-room, autograph brand, is a collection of unique, luxury hotels and the Oakland location would be the first in Pennsylvania. A February 2019 opening date is planned.
TRYP Hotel Pittsburgh-Lawrenceville
The former Washington Education Center on 40th Street in the Lawrenceville neighborhood is being converted into a new TRYP by Wyndham Hotel, an urban lifestyle boutique property. The 108-room hotel will be one of only four locations in the United States. Hotel is expected to open early 2019.
Moxy Hotel
The Moxy Hotel, a division of Marriott Hotels, will be built in the former Saks Fifth Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. The 174-room hotel will have its own unique character with many rooftop amenities. The sleek, edgy and moderately prices hotel is expected to open first quarter 2019.
Rivers Casino Hotel
A $35-million property is being planned by Rivers Casino. The seven-story, 221-room hotel will be built along the North Shore, next to the Carnegie Science Center. Opening is TBD.
