World-renowned German conductor Christoph von Dohnányi returns to conduct the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra after more than a decade since his last appearance. Widely admired for his interpretations of Romantic music, Gramophone described his recording of Schumann’s Symphony No. 4 as “easily the best and most vital of his series, spontaneous in its forward-looking energy.” Paired with Schumann, Dohnányi also will present the second chapter of the season-long Brahms cycle with a performance of his rustic Symphony No. 2. With this esteemed conductor joining forces with the distinguished Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, this outstanding weekend of artistic excellence is not one to miss!
