The Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts will dazzle you! The Cultural District will be transformed into a hub for indescribable inspiration through November 11, 2018. From visual arts, to theatrical performances, dance, music, and transformative shared experiences, you’ve never seen Pittsburgh quite like this.
The Carnegie International is where the contemporary happens! Only on view through March 25, 2019, the 57th edition features contemporary artists working in multiple disciplines including installation, live performance, site-specific work, and immersive experiences will present work under the curation of Ingrid Schaffner.
Also happening this fall, Isabelle de Borchgrave: Fashioning Art from Paper at The Frick Pittsburgh. Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave displays intricate replicas of historic clothing made entirely from paper. From Renaissance Italian gowns to modernist costumes of Les Ballet Russes, these life-size recreations will astonish and inspire. On display at the Frick through January 6, 2019.

The Westmoreland's collection includes works by major artists from four centuries and captures the region's rich agrarian and industrial past by placing local history within the greater context of our nation. We're home to more than 3,400 objects of fine and decorative American art, including our newest collection of post-1950 artwork. Every work of art has a story to tell.
On the heels of a dramatic renovation, The Westmoreland has become a true 21st century museum. We've increased our gallery and education spaces, enhanced our community-oriented programming, and literally raised the roof to include more traveling exhibitions.
Why? So visitors may build a deeper relationship with our diverse collection, and develop a deeper appreciation for American art.

Carnegie Museum of Art is arguably the first contemporary art museum in the United States, collecting the “Old Masters of tomorrow” since the inception of the Carnegie International in 1896. Today, the museum is one of the most dynamic major art institutions in America and a cultural leader in the Pittsburgh region. Its collection—over 30,000 objects—contains an extensive range of visual arts. The museum explores the role of art through a variety of thought-provoking and interactive programming where visitors can engage with this historic collection.
Visitors will enjoy the Frick Art Museum; the Car and Carriage Museum; Clayton, the restored 19th-Century Victorian home of Henry Clay Frick; the Cafe at the Frick; the Greenhouse; and the Visitors' Center which once served as the Frick children's playhouse.

As part of the Blue Star Museums Program, admission to the Frick Art & Historical Center will be free for all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention Common Access Card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID Card, or a DD Form 1173-1 ID Card, which includes active duty military personnel—and up to five of their immediate family members—in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserve.
