Yoga For Gardeners: Awakening Potential

The series is designed to progressively build strength, mobility, and balance over the three months. Each month introduces new themes and challenges, allowing participants to grow their practice as they move forward. However, each class is structured to be accessible to all levels, offering a stand-alone experience so that participants can join for just one month without feeling lost or behind. Classes will focus on foundational principles while layering in new elements of challenge, meaning that those attending regularly will feel a sense of progression and continuity.
Ona is a passionate yoga instructor and the founder of Sol Soul Sole, a holistic movement dedicated to promoting health and well-being while representing overlooked and underserved communities. She views yoga as a mental, physical, and spiritual recalibration tool, inspiring individuals to cultivate mindfulness, inner peace, resilience, and growth both on and off the mat.
"The theme for March's yoga class is "Awakening Potential". As winter nears its end, the energy beneath the soil builds towards new growth. Though the seed may not yet break through the surface, its roots deepen and expand, gathering the strength needed to emerge when the time is right. This month symbolizes the powerful preparation for growth, embodying the balance between rootedness and expansion as we gather our energy for what lies ahead.
The physical practice will center on more challenging postures, such as peak poses, balancing sequences, and beginner inversions. Participants will explore their limits, moving beyond their comfort zones to discover new strength and flexibility. Each class will blend strength-building postures with expansive movements to create space for new energy. Optional challenge factors will be introduced, including advanced transitions that provide opportunities to float or fly. Classes will be designed to lead up to a challenging or "peak" pose, such as Crow Pose or King Dancer Pose. Throughout these sequences, students will tap into their inner mental and physical strength to find and maintain balance.
