SkyWatch Presented by PPG
SkyWatch is back at Carnegie Science Center Fri., April 25! Explore the sky with professional telescopes from the rooftop of Carnegie Science Center, watch an enchanting show at the Buhl Planetarium, and partake in a variety of fun astronomy-themed activities.
SkyWatch kicks off the stargazing season Fri., April 25 from 9-11 pm, presented by PPG.
Visitors can spot the following celestial events:
· Stand beneath the Lyrid meteor shower! Left behind by comet C/1861 G1 (Thatcher) it will peak at a rate of 10-15 meteors per hour.
· Catch a glimpse of the “King of Planets” Jupiter and the “Red Planet” Mars!
· Spot a swarm of 1,000 stars in the “Beehive Cluster!” It is one of the closest open star clusters to Earth.
The event will happen – rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, activities will move indoors with an extended planetarium show. Tickets for SkyWatch are $12 per person or $10 for Carnegie Museums Members. Advanced registration is encouraged.
