Kamasi Washington
Saxophonist and composer Kamasi Washington helped bring contemporary jazz to a wider audience with his expansive 2015 triple album, The Epic. His music moves between jazz, soul, funk and hip-hop, drawing on large-scale arrangements while leaving room for improvisation. He also contributed to Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly and composed the score for the documentary Becoming. On Fearless Movement, Washington turns toward rhythm and dance, with guest appearances from André 3000 and Thundercat.
