Western PA Juneteenth Celebration & Black Music Fest

Celebrate Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the abolition of slavery in the US!

Juneteenth is a celebration in honor of the Emancipation Proclamation reaching Texas on June 19, 1865. This local celebration of freedom in Texas soon spread to other parts of the country during the civil rights movement in the 1960s.

In 2019 Juneteenth became a state holiday in Pennsylvania.

The Juneteenth Celebration starts on Friday June 26th at 4pm and runs each day thereafter from 10am to 10pm, ending Sunday June 28th.

Juneteenth Activities will include:
1. A Gospel Show Friday June 26th, 4pm to 10pm;
2. A Jubilee Parade June 27th, 10am to 1pm;
3. The Martin R. Delany Fest with live national entertainment, motivational speakers, a kid's Fun Zone, raffles, live bands, dance troupes, vendors, games and historical acknowledgements on June 27th, 1pm to 10pm; and,
4. Pittsburgh's Black Music Festival on Sunday June 28th, 11am to 10pm.

This is annual Pittsburgh event since 2013.
