Steel City Blues Festival is an annual celebration of blues dance held in Pittsburgh every March. Now in its 9th year, this 3-day event features introductory dance lessons, live music, dancing until 5AM, dance competitions, and more. This weekend features performances by Jimmy Adler and his band, local favorite Miss Freddye's Blues Band, and national acts. FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT:
FRIDAY NIGHT: [Admission is $18]
The Jimmy Adler Band, quoted by Blues Revue Magazine as “Guaranteed excitment for fans of straight ahead blues guitar,” performs live at the Bulgarian Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center in Homestead PA, Jimmy Adler is a talented musician who, along with his band, has drawn rave reviews around the Pittsburgh area. Jimmy plays music steeped in Chicago Blues and other Americana traditions. He and his band have played all over western Pennsylvania and the east coast and have even represented this region internationally! He always draws an enthusiastic crowd and you’re sure to enjoy his music!
Held at the Bulgarian Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center in Homestead, right next door to Pittsburgh proper, this event is smoke-free and suitable for teens and up who love the blues. The performance features an introductory blues dance lesson FREE with admission at 8pm, followed by dancing to Jimmy Adler and his band from 9pm-1am.

Miss Freddye's Blues Band sings and play the blues at Carnegie Mellon University as part of the Steel City Blues Festival. The performance features an introductory blues dance lesson FREE with admission at 8pm, followed by dancing to Miss Freddye’s Blues Band from 9pm-12am. Don’t miss your chance to hear one of Pittsburgh’s premiere blues artists!
ABOUT MISS FREDDYE’S BLUES BAND:
Led by the fiery blueswoman Miss Freddye, this group has energized crowds across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia for the past 13 years. When they're not keeping dancers up all night, Miss Freddye's Blues Band is also a favorite at festivals and benefit concerts.

Live Blues music from a “never played Steel City Blues Festival” before act at Wightman School Community Center in Squirrel Hill as part of the Steel City Blues Festival. The night features an exciting dance contest & great blues DJs in addition to the live band – finish off your Saturday night with great live music!
