recurring event

This exhibition pairs two different but equally dramatic paintings of the same subject, Judith and Holofernes, created 400 years apart—one by Artemisia Gentileschi, the most successful female painter of the 17th century, and the other by Kehinde Wiley, a contemporary African American artist celebrated for his recontextualization of Old Master paintings.

The exhibition is organized by the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte, the North Carolina Museum of Art, and The Museum Box.
