This event has already finished but is here for your information.
The Allies Ball is Allies for Health + Wellbeing’s signature annual fundraiser and awareness activity. The culminating themed event brings more than 300 individuals together, recognizing support and partnerships to provide medical and mental health care, food, housing assistance and other critical services for those living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS. The Allies Ball is followed by the Free for All where everyone from the community can celebrate together, emphasizing our focus on accessibility to integrated medical care and supportive human services that are respectful and free of discrimination.
This year, Allies for Health + Wellbeing with Event Architect Thommy Conroy reference theglam rock revelries of the movie "Velvet Goldmine" to create the 2023 Allies Ball and Free for All. Inspired by the joy for all ages referenced in the T. Rex song "Cosmic Dancer," this year's events return to the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, for an evening filled with sultry glamour, flashing sparkle and out-of-this-world excitement.
Allies Ball attendees will join event chairs Mary McKinney Flaherty and Mark F. Flaherty to enjoy stellar cocktails and entertainment at the Buhl Planetarium entrance. Attendees will have their official party portraits shot upon their arrival, and we will honor the 2023 Kerry Stoner Award recipient and the 2023 Bright Young People.
Dinner will be served in the museum with three unique dining rooms referencing glam rock, decadence and the early 70s music scene. Dessert will follow prior to the third annual Free for All, where everyone is invited to join and watch interviews with the Bright Young People, entertainment, and dance under the glittering stars in Buhl Park.
Guests who have attended before will know the Allies Ball is an over-the-top and extravagant experience. We invite you to pull out your platforms, glitter and satin and join us in the cosmic dance at the 2023 Allies Ball! Feather boas are encouraged, but not required.
