There's plenty of excitement in Pittsburgh in July beyond the Independence Day celebration.
July in Pittsburgh is about more than just a series of spectacular regional fireworks shows. Starting July 3rd, our city will be busy with many great activities from the Three River's Regatta to BMX races in South Park to the Dream On Festival and PicklesBURGH in downtown. Along with those events the streets of Pittsburgh will be filled with the sweet harmonies of the Barbershop Harmony Society's International Convention from June 28 through July 5.
There are two other sizable conventions coming to town this month that you should be on the look out for. July 9-12 Pittsburgh welcomes Anthrocon back to the golden triangle. That's right, it's Furry time again! And this year the Furry Parade will be a public event held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center at 2:00 p.m. on July 11th. Don't miss the Furries on parade!
On July 18-22 Pittsburgh fills up with nearly 10,000 conventioneers for the 116th Annual VFW National Convention. As you're walking around the city, take a moment and thank a veteran for their service and sacrifice.

Not feeling a car race, then how about going for a bicycle ride? Bike Share has descended upon Pittsburgh so you can simply rent a bike to get around to everything the city has to offer.
Of course summer time turns Pittsburgh into Kidsburgh so don't forget those old favorite places for your kids to enjoy the long summer days. Gather up the family and spend the day at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, Sandcastle, Kennywood or at one of the many area museums. Take a ride on the Gateway Clipper or the Duquesne Incline on your way to or from a Pirates or Riverhounds game.
