RAD Days run September 18 through October 11 and are an annual event celebrating art, sports, and cultural vibrancy in Pittsburgh. Started in 1995 by the Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD), RADical days are open and accessible to all. The mission of RAD is to support and finance regional art and cultural organizations such as libraries, parks & recreation, cultural, sports, and civic facilities and programs. Since 1995, the 1% County Sales tax paid by residents of and visitors to Allegheny County has resulted in a cumulative nearly $3.2 billion investment in the region, with $1.6 billion in grants directly made to cultural organizations.
Make sure to check the listings for each organization's free date or performance, times and limitations. Admissions are first-come, first served, and some events may require advance reservations or may have space limitations.
"Rad" means cool, extraordinary, and wonderful, and RADical days are all that and more. Take some time to look at the full schedule of events - you're guaranteed to find something you can't wait to experience.
