Pittsburgh's iconic Three Rivers are part of what makes this city great.

The rivers make for amazing views and photo opportunities throughout the year, but offer a lot of fun things to do during the summer months. Here are nine on the river activities that are sure to make a splash in your summer!

Gateway Clipper

All aboard! Hop on the Gateway Clipper for an unforgettable tour around the city. The Clipper offers a variety of sightseeing cruises including dining options, kid themed cruises, adult cruises and shuttle services.

Just Ducky Tours

Get your quack on with a Just Ducky Tour! This hour long adventure takes riders through the city on land and water while providing Pittsburgh fun facts and jokes.

Boating 

Want to be your own captain? Look no further! Rent a pontoon boat from Boat Pittsburgh for a full or half day while soaking up the sun with family and friends on the Three Rivers.

Kayaking

Visit Washington's Landing or the Point in a kayak along the Three Rivers. Paddle solo or grab a friend for a tandem kayak. Kayak Pittsburgh offers kayak rentals seven days a week until 8pm.

Paddle Boarding

Dragon Boat Racing

The ancient Chinese tradition of Dragon Boating has made its way to the Steel City! Dragon boat racing is a team sport composed of a 22 person crew including paddlers, a caller and a steers person focusing on the elements of power, speed, synchronization and endurance. The Steel City Dragons offers free community days for everyone to experience dragon boating.

Whitewater Rafting

Looking for something more rapid? White Water Adventures or Laurel Highlands River Tours in Ohiopyle State Park (about an hour south of Pittsburgh) have you covered with a variety of whitewater courses based on difficulty.
