Morning

Start your day by stepping back in time and experiencing the wonderful history Butler County has to offer. A visit to the Buhl and Passavant Houses built in the early 1800’s with their fine collections of household items brought from Germany is the perfect way to start the day. Then spend sometime in one of only 50 National Historic Landmark Districts, Harmony was the first home of the Harmony Society and was later resettled by the Mennonites. Don’t miss the chance to see this Little Town with Big History, from Native Americans and the French and Indian War to the Oil Era.

Afternoon

Butler County’s rolling hills offer real adventure starting with Moraine State Park, the centerpiece of the county’s outdoor life, with more than 15,000 acres of beautiful scenery and wildlife including the osprey reintroduction to Lake Arthur, the largest man-made lake in Pennsylvania. Experience the unique scenery and wildlife of Lake Arthur aboard the Nautical Nature Cruise, a floating classroom that showcases beautiful Moraine State Park.

Visit Hotel Saxonburg for casual dining in a relaxed 19th century atmosphere. Enjoy fresh seafood, prime aged steaks and Italian entrees. After dinner, take in an event at the intimate Succop Theatre, where national touring companies perform.
