12/19/2007 NRA Sets Site on Pittsburgh for Convention PITTSBURGH VisitPittsburgh put together the winning bid to again bag the National Rifle Association of America’s national convention for 2011. The event, which will take place April 28 May 1 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, is expected to attract upwards of 61,000 attendees, ranking it among the largest conventions held in Pittsburgh.

11/29/2007 VisitPittsburgh Consultant and Former Executive Robert Imperata Elected to Chair of PASAE Board PITTSBURGH – Robert Imperata, VisitPittsburgh consultant and former executive vice president, has been elected Chairman of the PaSAE Board of Directors. Mr. Imperata is the first officer elected to the position from an organization west of Harrisburg.
11/28/2007 VisitPittsburgh Achieves Destination Marketing Accreditation Pittsburgh, PA – VisitPittsburgh announced that it has been awarded accreditation from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP). DMAP is an international accreditation program developed by the Washington, D.C.–based Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI). In earning the DMAP accreditation, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) communicate to their community, buyers and potential visitors that their DMO has attained a significant measure of excellence.
