Pittsburgh has a vibrant performing arts scene. Pittsburgh International Children's Theater sponsors and premieres international, national and regional visual and performing arts programming. Their Family Series lineup will keep you singing and dancing. Pittsburgh CLO is one of the country's most prestigious nonprofit theaters, staging productions of musical theater classics, including a dynamic six-show Summer Season and its annual production of A Musical Christmas Carol. Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre is widely acclaimed for its classical ballet masterpieces as well as innovative explorations of contemporary dance. Pittsburgh is a family town, and area attractions love to bring families together. Mellon Arena Family Shows has year round events including circus performances, concerts and sporting events. Pittsburgh Playhouse Junior brings children into the world of imagination through live theater with fairy tales, modern and timeless stories adapted for young audiences and classics from children's literature. Spectator Sports

Sports are big in Pittsburgh. Home of Super Bowl XL Champions the Pittsburgh Steelers, the city offers plenty of games and sporting events. The annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix drives into Pittsburgh every July. Considered the premier vintage grand prix event in the United States, this race attracts fans of all ages, who line the beautiful Schenley Park streets to cheer for their favorite antique autos. Love baseball? Walk across the Roberto Clemente Bridge to PNC Park for a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game and you'll get a double treat: a ballgame and a spectacular view of the Pittsburgh skyline.

Slippery Rock's professional baseball team, the Sliders, play all 32 home games at Jack Critchfield Park on the campus of Slippery Rock University. The Washington Wild Things run the bases at Falconi Field in Washington County. Hockey lovers can watch the Pittsburgh Penguins take the ice at Mellon Arena. The Pens provide nonstop action with a team of young, talented players. Catch the action courtside with Pittsburgh Xplosion basketball. Games are played at both Mellon Arena and the Petersen Events Center at the University of Pittsburgh.
