Meat Potatoes, located in the heart of the Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, is the city’s first gastropub. The menu at Meat Potatoes features simple and approachable fare from Chef/Owner Richard DeShantz, emphasizing the traditional-yet-satisfying staples of the American pantry, paired with a curated selection of handcrafted libations honoring “Prohibition” and the “Repeal.” Signature meat-centric dishes include Bone Marrowwith grilled bread, gremolata, and pickled red onions; Smoked Wings with whiskey buffalo sauce;Tartare with dry aged strip, smoked egg, chili, seaweed aioli, and peanuts; the Pub Burger with pork belly pastrami, horseradish cheddar, fried egg, and special sauce; and the show-stopping Meat Potatoes for Two – a 34 oz bone-in ribeye, served with confit steak fries, mushroom ragu, bone marrow gratin and house made steak sauce.
