First Baptist Church

Brief History

This church was first organized in people's homes in 1903 before moving to the Lewandosky Building, then into the Old School building on Washington Avenue. The current church was restored in 1989 and is in good condition. As one of the earliest churches established in the South Hills, it has long provided social, moral and spiritual leadership to the community.

Condition/Architectural Notes

Church built in 1906 and remodeled in 1946.
