This exhibition by John Moran includes life-size figurative representations of the Presidents of the United States. “Their flesh is sculpted in glass, giving them an eerie life-like feeling. Their bodies are constructed from many different materials, often coated in resin and urethane to give them a plastic unnatural look. Their appearances are absurd. I intend to bring these people into a tangible existence, other than that of myths and legends. Through blurring the line between fact and fiction, I hope to create a situation in which the viewer reflects on what he/she thinks is or is not truly important,” said Moran. This will be the first time all of Moran’s presidents will be shown together in one location.
