Hear our rising stars! The Sixth Mildred Miller International Voice Competition features young professionals aged 18-32 competing for cash prizes and roles in Opera Theater Summerfest 2017. Founder of Opera Theater, Mildred Miller Posvar is one of the esteemed performers who judge the dramatic contest. Past winners include Metropolitan Opera countertenor Andrey Nemzer, Elizabeth Baldwin, and Juan Jose DeLeon. As part of National Opera Week, semi-finals are open free to the public on October 29, 2016 from 11 AM - 1 PM and 3 PM - 6 PM in Carnegie Mellon University’s Mellon Institute Auditorium in Oakland, 4400 Fifth Ave., Oakland, Pittsburgh 15213 (entrance on Bellfield Ave. opposite Heinz Chapel). Finals will take place the following day, Sunday, October 30. 2016 from 2-5 PM at the intimate The Frick Pittsburgh auditorium (7227 Reynolds St., Point Breeze, 15208).

Tickets are $35 (AAA discounts appply) and students with valid ID are admitted free at door.
