Tough Art

An exhibition of four, original, interactive artworks that are “tough” enough to withstand kid handling. Play with a giant kaleidoscope, activate a sculpture with your voice and more! This exhibit is supported by a grant from the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Sciences.

Autumnfest

Book Binding

Sign up for an exciting workshop to learn about book binding. This is your chance to join our Teaching Artists, Missy and Rebecca, to learn the process of binding your own book! Once you're finished making your book, you can head to the studio to make your own stamps that can be used for customization. Learn more! This is not a 2-hour class. Please drop in anytime during the designated hours. These workshops are free with museum admission. Workshops are intended for ages 8 and up.

Hot Pepper captures the malaise of young low-level office workers in three quirky scenes set in an office break room. In the sharp and visually vibrant world of write-director Toshiki Okada, twenty-something co-workers wrestle with issues as mundane as selecting a restaurant for lunch or the temperature of the office. Okada mixes dark humor, absurdity, and a distinct musical backdrop by John Coltrane, Stereolab and John Cage to capture the empty and ungrounded nature of Generation Y.
