Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s free, festive showcase of arts and entertainment takes place at galleries and arts spaces throughout the Cultural District.
This exhibit features a showcase of more than 60 guitars, ranging from the rare to wildly popular. It includes interactives about the science of sound as well as photography, performance videos, audio, touch screens and the World’s Largest Playable Guitar, certified by Guinness World Records. Plus, live performances by musicians of local, regional, and national note will be scheduled throughout the run of the exhibit.

Ripieno, a cooperative-style concerto orchestra founded in 2011, provides a platform for the best and brightest of Pittsburgh's freelance music scene. Our upcoming concert features the perennial favorite Double Concerto for Oboe and Violin by J. S. Bach, a reconstructed Horn Concerto of Mozart, and a super-virtuosic C. P. E. Bach Symphony. Hot Pepper captures the malaise of young low-level office workers in three quirky scenes set in an office break room. In the sharp and visually vibrant world of write-director Toshiki Okada, twenty-something co-workers wrestle with issues as mundane as selecting a restaurant for lunch or the temperature of the office. Okada mixes dark humor, absurdity, and a distinct musical backdrop by John Coltrane, Stereolab and John Cage to capture the empty and ungrounded nature of Generation Y.
