The Carrie Furnaces, a National Historic Landmark, were the heart and soul of U.S. Steel's Homestead Works. This tour includes the whole steel-making process, from the Ore Yards where raw materials were stored to the Cast House where red hot molten metal spewed from the furnace. Form meets at the intersection of function and play in the Children’s Museum new Wheels exhibit. Wheels will challenge our visitors to use their bodies and wheel-based objects to move themselves through space in different ways. Silk Screen: Asian Arts and Cultural Organization will feature 25 films at its seventh annual Asian American Film Festival, May 11-20.
