The Carrie Furnaces, a National Historic Landmark, were the heart and soul of U.S. Steel's Homestead Works. This tour includes the whole steel-making process, from the Ore Yards where raw materials were stored to the Cast House where red hot molten metal spewed from the furnace. Form meets at the intersection of function and play in the Children’s Museum new Wheels exhibit. Wheels will challenge our visitors to use their bodies and wheel-based objects to move themselves through space in different ways. Silk Screen: Asian Arts and Cultural Organization will feature 25 films at its seventh annual Asian American Film Festival, May 11-20. The festival is a showcase of Asian films and filmmakers with origins in Asian cultures. There will be 48 showings at three locations in the city: The Harris Theater, the Melwood Screening Room and the Regent Square Theater. The ToonSeum presents “Will Eisner's New York,” a rare collection of original works by legendary comics pioneer Will Eisner, each chronicling the artist's informal history of the city that shaped many of his illustrated masterpieces.
