An exhibition illustrating the dominant theme and aesthetic characteristics of Nick Mount’s work from 2002 to 2012. The Carrie Furnaces, a National Historic Landmark, were the heart and soul of U.S. Steel's Homestead Works. The sixteenth installment in the Gestures series, Gestures: Intimate Friction, will bring together artists, architects, and activists to work together in the Mattress Factory’s annex gallery, 1414 Monterey. The upcoming exhibition will be guest-curated by Mary-Lou Arscott, of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Architecture.

\Explore the history of the guitar like never before - through science! Guitar: The Instrument that Rocked the World combines science, sound, history and the cultural impact of the guitar into this exciting new exhibit.

GUITAR: The Instrument That Rocked The World

This exhibit features a showcase of more than 60 guitars, ranging from the rare to wildly popular. It includes interactives about the science of sound as well as photography, performance videos, audio, touch screens and the World’s Largest Playable Guitar, certified by Guinness World Records. Plus, live performances by musicians of local, regional, and national note will be scheduled throughout the run of the exhibit.
