10 Years of Bottles and Bobs: A Survey by Nick Mount

An exhibition illustrating the dominant theme and aesthetic characteristics of Nick Mount’s work from 2002 to 2012. This 10-year survey traces the evolution of his “Scent Bottles” and “Plumb Bobs.” Nick Mount has been in the vanguard of the Australian hot-glass movement since he was introduced to the medium in 1974. The Carrie Furnaces, a National Historic Landmark, were the heart and soul of U.S. Steel's Homestead Works. The Carrie Furnaces Hard Hat Tour includes the whole steel-making process, from the Ore Yard where raw materials were stored, to the Cast House, where red hot molten metal spewed from the furnace.
