PSO Music Director Manfred Honeck closes the Paris Festival with sheer vigor. The vibrant and exceptional music for the ballet Pétrouchka is an invention of Igor Stravinsky through his collaboration with the famous Ballets Russes in Paris. Then, hear two pieces inspired by the influential jazz scene of Paris. Swiss-born Arthur Honegger studied at the Paris Conservatory when he composed his jazz-infused Concerto. George Gershwin's iconic An American in Paris was inspired by the composer's own experience of the bustling streets of Paris, absorbing the sights and sounds of the "City of Light."
