  In early November, the Regent Square Theater is the anchor venue for Pittsburgh Filmmakers' two-week-long Three Rivers Film Festival (3RFF). Approximately 40 feature-length films are shown, from the U.S. and around the world, from famous directors and up-and-coming independent filmmakers. The short films competition has grown exponentially in recent years. Thousands of attendees enjoy parties and special events with presentations by film and video makers and musicians.

  Run—or walk—through Frick Park's beautiful Fern Hollow. Citiparks and the Regent Square Civic Association host an annual event each year on the fourth Saturday in August. The first section of the 5k (3.1 mile) race travels through the streets of Regent Square. Athletes are then challenged by the cross-country trails of Frick Park. The race wraps up on Tranquil Trail and Fern Hollow where a festive award ceremony takes place. Musicians, costumed characters and themed-water stops are sprinkled throughout the course.

  Each May, on the Saturday after Mother's Day, Regent Square hosts a communitywide yard sale. With over 100 participating households and businesses, this annual event attracts thousands of people to Regent Square looking for deals.
