Directions to Old Economy Village
From Pittsburgh, follow Route 65 N approximately 16 miles, passing through Bellevue, Emsworth, and Sewickley. When you reach the Ambridge area, continue on Route 65 N and exit at Merchant Street, where there is a stop light. Turn right at the stop light and follow the road around Foodland. At the stop sign, turn left and proceed 1 block to 16th Street. Turn right on 16th Street, go ½ block, and turn left into the Old Economy Village Visitor Center parking lot.

This National Historic Landmark, built 1824-1830, is furnished with collections of the Harmony Society, German immigrants known for industrial prosperity in textiles, railroad investments, and wine making. See 17 historic structures, gardens, original tools and furnishings, Visitor Center, orientation movie, exhibits, and Museum Store. Perform historic chores and encounter traditional tradesmen (seasonal).

Directions from Old Economy Village to Beaver Area Heritage Museum (9.23 miles)
Start out going west on 16th Street toward Church Street. Turn right onto Church Street, then turn left onto Pugar Place. Turn right onto Ohio River Blvd/PA 65 N. Take the PA-51/PA 68 ramp and merge, taking PA-68 W toward Beaver. Turn left onto E. End Avenue and end at 1 River Road.

Known as one of the best local history museums in America, the Beaver Area Heritage Museum features important exhibits on the people, events, and objects that have shaped the Beaver area. It is housed in a renovated, 100-year-old railroad freight station and 200-year-old log house.

Go southwest on East 2nd Street. Make a right on Beaver Street. Turn right onto 3rd Street/PA-68. Continue to follow PA-68 N to PA-18 N toward New Brighton. Turn right onto 11th Street. End at 1100 5th Ave.

Founded by the celebrated New Brighton industrialist Edward Dempster Merrick (1832-1911), The Merrick is home to a stunning collection of French, German, English, and American paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries. The collection features examples of romantic, realistic, and impressionistic art by prominent American and European artists, including Prud'hon, Courbet, Winterhalter, Sully, and Curran. Most prominent is a collection of Hudson River School paintings featuring the works of Durand, Moran, Kensett, Casilear, and Trost Richards. The Eva Mae Merrick Music Room boasts a piano once played by legendary composer Stephen Foster-located in the Eva Mae Merrick Music Room. Other collections inclue contemporary art, a 19th-century library, a rock and mineral collection, and a zoological collection.

Directions from the Merrick to the Air Heritage Museum (6 miles)

Go northwest on 5th Avenue toward 10th Street. 5th Avenue becomes PA-18 N (7th Ave. Beaver Falls). Turn left onto 24th Street. Turn right onto Darlington Road. Continue on Darlington Road (cross Route 51). Turn left onto Piper Street.
